I’ve been off track alot in the last several posts. Lets get back on track with some great available cars for sale, starting with this extra low mile M Coupe:
1999 Silver BMW M Coupe with 11k miles on Roadfly:
Beautiful LOW MILEAGE M COUPE, 11,000 miles!!!, Arctic Silver Metallic, One Owner, Clean Carfax, 5 – Speed Manual Transmission, Sunroof, CD Changer, Heated Seats, Side Impact Airbags, S52 Engine with 240 hp, No paintwork or bodywork, Garage kept and meticulously maintained, This is RARE car and especially with so few miles.
Not sure I’d pay $28.5k for any M Coupe without the S54, but it is likely to be as close to a brand new as possible.

I couldn’t agree more. Having owned a car with an S52 I do not think I would go there again. While the supercharger could have attributed to the horrid throttle response in my example, it remains a general compliant surrounding the S52.
For that kind of money I would find a nice example with the S54, while it may not have 11,000 miles, it would have a lot more grunt produced by a superior driving engine.
The S52 grunt is at a much lower RMP which makes it better than the S54 for autocross and most tracks that don’t have a long straight. Unless you are going over 100 mph you can’t tell any difference.
