Check out the price on the Metric Mechanic 3.7 S38 motor. Yeah that’s ten grand; not to mention installation. At $17k, this M6 is looking like a really good buy for the e24 enthusiast.

Hi Dan Amazing – love what you did to this car….very nicely done. I also have an 88 M6 and have been eyeballing the Metric Mechanic engines. I see you put one in this car – $10K for the engine. A couple of questions on this….

1. Assuming everything major is stock i.e. tranny, drivetrain, etc, can these modified engines be dropped in as is or are there other upgraded systems required?

2. About what is the price range was it to have it installed?
